This grant program encourages and supports the volunteer involvement of New York Life employees, agents and retirees with community-based nonprofit organizations.
Woodlands Wildlife Refuge announced that it has been awarded a New York Life Foundation's Volunteers for Good - Individual Grant in the amount of $1,000 to recognize the volunteer service of Karen Bowker. She has been a volunteer with Woodlands Wildlife Refuge for 18 years. This grant program encourages and supports the volunteer involvement of New York Life employees, agents and retirees with community-based nonprofit organizations.
"Karen been instrumental in assisting our organization," said Tracy Leaver, executive director, Woodlands Wildlife Refuge. "We are very grateful to the New York Life Foundation for this grant to support our work in the community."
"I am proud to be actively involved with Woodlands" said Karen, a volunteer from New York Life's Clinton NJ Office. "This organization is making a difference and I'm pleased that the company supports my volunteer service."
New York Life develops and promotes volunteer opportunities for their agents, employees and retirees though Volunteers for Good so they may contribute their time and expertise to help meet community needs. Volunteers for Good grants recognize and encourage their ongoing involvement with nonprofit organizations.
Founded in 1986, Woodlands Wildlife Refuge is a non-profit rehabilitation facility dedicated to the care and release of orphaned and injured wild animals. It is the only facility in New Jersey licensed to care for the state's endangered bobcat, and is the primary rehabilitation facility for black bears.
