A number of Readington Township residents have written letters of support for Hunterdon Central Regional High School Board of Education candidate Ron Armellino.

To the editor:

My wife and I would like to endorse Ron Armellino for the Hunterdon Central Regional High School Board of Education.

We met Ron over 20 years ago and have repeatedly been amazed how this man will always put the needs of the community first. He is a candidate who does not have a hidden agenda and will insure that the students are first and foremost when important decisions are being made.

Come out on Nov. 8 to put Ron on the Board of Education.

To the editor:

I worked at Bell Labs/Bellcore/Telcordia Technologies for many years and I am thoroughly familiar with Ron Armellino as a member of the Technical Staff, supervisor and director.

My wife, Jo, and I are both familiar with Ron as a community organizer and volunteer. We give him our highest recommendation for Readington Township's seat on the Hunterdon Central Regional High School Board of Education.

He is a man of character and a skilled manager who knows how to balance budgets with many competing projects.

Ron is one of the most dedicated volunteers we know and has led many charitable projects resulting in hundreds of thousands of dollars to local charities.

And besides all of those attributes, he is a true "people" person, and one we can trust.

There is no doubt that Ron is the right person to represent us and our children.

To the editor:

Greetings from Florida I hope this note finds you all well as I am happily enjoying retirement.

I am writing this note to endorse Ron Armellino for a Readington Township seat on the Hunterdon Central Regional High School Board of Education being contested on Nov. 8.

Ron has a significant business background and always demonstrated that he could organize and effectively work with people on achieving a vision. I know he can bring that strength to bear on the Hunterdon Central board to help make it more effective for the Readington Township community.

I had the pleasure of working with Ron for 16 years through his work on the Recreation Committee and other volunteer programs that he headed up. I can tell you that working with Ron was always a positive experience.

He never had any personal agenda that he pushed and he was always concerned about our children.

Ron had many accomplishments as part of the Recreation Committee. He joined at a time when the township was growing and programs:

  • Ron developed and led the implementation of the Readington Holiday Basketball Tournament which was a major fundraiser for our Recreation Department which he ran for 14 years.
  • Ron was the person who started the Cynthia K. Critelli Memorial Tournament which has raised significant funds for Breast Cancer support. In 2011, I had the pleasure of attending the Susan G. Komen Central and South Jersey Awards dinner where Readington Recreation was recognized as a Susan G. Komen Superstar which was due to Ron's efforts.  He spoke of the importance of the cause and wanted to make a difference for people. The bottom line is that he truly cares.
  • Ron always helped and participated in township events such as Community Day and he helped organize the facility usage for all the programs we ran indoor (e.g. basketball, soccer, volleyball). A job which I think he still does today to help out the Community.

Ron has always been there for the children of our township and you will not find a more dedicated volunteer.

In 2015, I had the pleasure of visiting Readington Township for the Recreation Volunteer night and was happy to see Ron be awarded a Lifetime Achievement Volunteers award which was well deserved.

I absolutely feel that Ron will do an outstanding job representing you and your children and strongly encourage you to vote for him on Nov. 8.

To the editor:

We've known Ron Armellino, through a variety of his volunteer activities related to youth sports in Readington township, for 12 years. Ron is a tireless volunteer that has a passion for improving the lives of children.

I've been continually amazed with what Ron has been able to accomplish, whether running a fund raising basketball tournament for the township's recreation department or a charity. We believe that Ron will be a great asset to the Hunterdon Central Regional High School Board of Education and fully support him.

To the editor:

When I learned that Ron Armellino was a candidate for the Hunterdon Central Regional High School Board of Education my first thought was that the resident's, especially the youth, of Readington Township would be losing one of its most foremost volunteers in the township's history.

My second thought was how great it would now be for Ron's talents to be to be shared with the entire county of Hunterdon.

I have seen Ron in action for the last 15 years in many, many township events and programs. Ron was not only a tireless worker but a true leader. In the words of Dwight D. Eisenhower is: "Leadership is the art of getting someone else to do something you want done because he or she wants to do it."

Ron inspired many including myself to get involved and take on responsibilities for worthy causes. Most often those causes improved the lives of our children.

Ron is an excellent manager and director of anything that he is involved in. No detail is overlooked and everything runs seamlessly. The participants all praise Ron's efforts.

Ron would be an exceptional member of the board. I strongly urge you to vote for Ron so that your children can experience and be rewarded by his talents.

To the editor:

When Ron Armellino informed me that he had decided to run for a position on the Hunterdon Central Regional High School Board of Education, I immediately thought that here was the perfect candidate who was totally qualified with fresh energy and ideas, and with a positive attitude.

I have known Ron for well over 10 years. He has 37 years of work experience in the telecommunications industry. He has significant management experience which he can bring to the Hunterdon Central BOE to make it more effective.

Ron's never-ending effort he has put back into the Readington community is astonishing. Over the years he has run the Readington Junior Baseball League, where he was the person who negotiated the building of Cornhusker Park with the Township Committee which provided needed fields for the program.

He ran the summer tournament for many years which had over 100 teams from all over Central Jersey and raised funds for the program.

Because there was no place for 13/14 years to play in he summer, Ron started a league to give players a chance to compete against a dozen townships getting Diamond Nation to donate the Healthquest Field for the championship games.

He did this with none of his children even involved in the program because he cares about our children. Ron developed and ran Readington Basketball Holiday tourney for 14 years over the Holiday break, which not only provided a place for many children to play but raised significant founds for our Township Recreation programs.

For the past 13 years Ron has run the Cynthia K. Critelli Memorial tournament in March, which raises money for the Hunterdon Healthcare Foundation Cancer Center.

To date, he has donated almost $300,000 to this cause.

He is so respected by the players who have played in the tourney, every year former players come back to volunteer to help him out. Ron has run the Hunterdon Horizon Non Profit girls basketball program giving many of our children the opportunity to play fall and spring basketball.

Every Sunday this fall you will find him at Hunterdon Central from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. running a program for 20 High School teams and none of his children are even in the program.

Ron and his wife have raised four children in Readington, and all have attended Hunterdon Central. Ron has served on the booster club committee for each of the sports his children had participated while at Central.

All the work Ron has been involved in around Readington has been for one reason: For the betterment of the youth in town.

Whenever he was in charge of a league or tourney, or coaching in the Rec program, everything would run like clockwork.

He is experienced with getting volunteers involved and work together, and would always listen to suggestions to improve whatever he was involved in.

Ron would provide outstanding dedication and be a phenomenal addition to the Hunterdon Central BOE.

The students as well as the entire Hunterdon Central community would benefit from his past experiences and all that he has done for the youth of Readington.

I sincerely urge you to give Ron Armellino your vote on election day as his record speaks for itself.
