CLINTON TWP. - Jeffrey Petrone, 26, of the township, was arrested and charged with possession of drugs after police reportedly found 50 bags of heroin during a motor-vehicle stop on Thursday.
Petrone's 2002 Volkswagon Jetta was stopped at approximately 8:45 p.m. on Interstate 78 near exit 18. Police said Petrone reportedly had needle injection marks on his arm and a white powder on his pants.
In addition to the heroin, police reported finding a bag of cocaine and two hypodermic syringes.He was also charged with possession of a hypodermic syringe and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance.
He was also issued motor-vehicle summons for operating a motor vehicle while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance, failure to signal and failure to produce documents, according to police.
He was released on his own recognizance pending a court hearing, police said.
