Hunterdon fire department marks 9/11 anniversary (PHOTOS)

Firefighters from Whitehouse Fire Company, as well as Readington Township police and members of the Whitehouse Rescue Squad, took part in a ceremony marking the 15th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.

READINGTON TWP. - Firefighters from Whitehouse Fire Company, as well as township police and members of the Whitehouse Rescue Squad, took part in a ceremony marking the 15th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.

Services were held Sunday evening and led by fire company President Bill Wallace, Chief Tim Apgar and Deputy Fire Chief Andrew Williams, as well as Associate Member Sami Wallace and Firefighter Peter Mount.

Central Jersey pauses to reflect on 9/11

During the ceremony, the bell on the fire truck was rung five times in three sets, symbolizing 15 years, and in remembrance of those that were lost.

Also on Sunday, Patriots Point in Clinton was the site of a ceremony marking the 15th anniversary of the terror attacks. Firefighters also took part in a 9/11 anniversary stairclimb held at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township.
