More than 6 inches of rain fell on Solberg Airport, cutting short the festivities Saturday and Sunday

READINGTON -- Patrons of the rain-plagued New Jersey Festival of Ballooning will get a chance to exchange their unused tickets, or in some cases, get refunds.

Festival organizers posted detailed information on their website about refunds and exchanges, outlining the procedures customers should follow to either swap their tickets for admission to next year's event or get their money back.

People who have unused hard general admission tickets can simply bring them to the 2017 festival to gain admission provided the ticket is intact.

Customers who bought online but didn't attend due to the inclement weather will have to email their order numbers to information@balloonfestival.com to get a ticket for next year.

Balloon festival goers who attended either Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning but left when the grounds were evacuated are asked to email (online tickets) or mail (hard tickets) a note to festival organizers stating what time they entered the grounds. The address is available in the above link.

Balloon ride ticket holders as well as patrons who planned to attend some of the many concerts scheduled for the festival are also eligible for refunds.

While some social media users complained about how festival officials handled the 6.76 inches of rain that dropped on Solberg Airport this weekend, many more commenters praised the work of staff in dealing with the soggy conditions.
