Sergeantsville VFW Post 8390 Veterans Day celebration

Sergeantsville Memorial VFW Post 8390 celebrated Veterans Day on Saturday, Nov 14, at the Delaware Township Municipal Building. Post Judge Advocate James Kuhn was MC and introduced Post Commander Charles Pierman who led the group in the Pledge to the Flag and then had welcoming remarks. Supporting the event were Girl Scout Troops 80254, 80269, 80357 and 80482 along with Boy Scout Troup 49 and 65.

VFW Post 8390 Senior Vice Commander Floyd Evans introduced the guest. Delaware Township Major Roger Locandro welcomed everyone, thanked the veterans for their service and read a patriotic poem. Hunterdon County Freeholder Director John King passionately addressed the services and sacrifices of veterans and keynote speaker Assemblyman from the 16th District Jack Ciattarelli thanked the veterans for their service and dedication to their country.

The Sea Scouts trooped the colors and the Guardians of the National Cemetery Honor Guard did the final salute. Buglers from Across American Ron and Lisa Lawrence played "Echo Taps."

The benediction was by Rev Errickson and there was a raffle drawing conducted by Commander Pierman. VFW Post 8390 members served refreshments to the large group in attendance.

Assisting in the program were VFW District Commander George Trigas, Post 8390 Quartermaster Ken Johnson and Adjutant Jim Mathews.
