As you may know, it has been six months since the first devastating earthquake hit Nepal. Following the April 2015 earthquake in Nepal, Tulsi Maharjan recognized that something needed to be done to help rebuild his home nation. Within the month, he brought together members of Friends of Nepal - New Jersey, New Jersey Rotary District 7510, and Lions Club of New Jersey to create the Homes of Hope Nepal Campaign.
Homes of Hope Nepal is excited to announce a Wine Tasting fundraiser at Old York Cellars. The event will take place on Sunday, Nov. 1, from 1-4 p.m., at 80 Old York Road in Ringoes. This fundraiser will feature the a tasting of six wines, a tour of the winery by Tasting Room Manager, Christopher Principato, traditional Nepali snacks, and live music by the Irvin Comanda Group.
During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to help design and create prayer flags that will be displayed in a Nepali library that will be built as part of the project.
The Homes of Hope Nepal project is a Somerset County (NJ)-based program with the goal to re-build 1,000 homes and provide $50,000 micro-credit loans to help rebuild Nepal after the April 2015 earthquakes.
The event is $20, with all proceeds going to the Homes of Hope Nepal Project. For more information about the event or the project, contact Anil Maharjan (amaharjan92@gmail.com) or check out www.homesofhopenepal.com.
