The check represents the proceeds of the annual collection to support people with intellectual disabilities conducted at St. Joseph Parish, High Bridge, and at the ShopRite in Franklin Township, Hunterdon County.
St. Joseph Council Grand Knight Kevin Loughney recently presented a check for $2,997 to Jeffrey Mattson, executive director of the ARC of Hunterdon County. The check represents the proceeds of the annual collection to support people with intellectual disabilities conducted at St. Joseph Parish, High Bridge, and at the ShopRite in Franklin Township, Hunterdon County.
Mattson thanked the Knights for their continued support adding that the contributions from St. Joseph Council and other Knights councils in Hunterdon County are important support for the successful programs of the ARC which seeks to "empower individuals experiencing intellectual and developmental disabilities to live and work in the community on their own terms as proud, vital members of society."
The council, has been an ardent supporter of ARC since 1991, and has raised in excess of $92,000 for that program. The local Knights' program is part of the fraternal organization's nationwide effort to support people with intellectual disabilities.
