EAST AMWELL - The East Amwell Historical Society is holding its annual holiday house tour on Dec. 4.
A tour bus departs from the East Amwell Municipal Building, 1070 Route 202 at 1 p.m., for stops at three homes. Cost is $25 per person, and space is limited. For reservations, contact Pauline Seramba at pseramba@hotmail.com or 908-797-9024.
The homes include:
- The New Market Farm, a charming circa 1735-era home that features stunning vistas, and a large barn and wagon house. The farm, which was originally 200 acres, used to harvest and process tomatoes for the Campbell Soup Company.
- "The Farm" on Old York Road, built in 1740, has been beautifully-restored by its homeowner of 38 years. The three-story house is elegantly decorated throughout and features a gorgeous backyard view of the Sourland Mountains in the distance and a man-made pond.
- A 1740-era, Dutch gambrel-roofed farm house that offers many original features including Dutch ceiling beams, six fireplaces, trim and doors. Besides the three-story home, the property has several large barns and a pond.
The tour returns to the municipal building where participants may drive themselves around the corner to the historic Harvest Moon Inn to enjoy cookies and cider.
