RARITAN TWP. - Hunterdon Central Regional High School presents the classic 1930s madcap comedy The Man Who Came to Dinner at 7 p.m. Friday and 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday.
This comedy by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman follows what happens when the beloved, but cantankerous, newspaper columnist and radio personality Sheridan Whiteside (Chris Soldano) pays a publicity visit to a Midwestern family (Caroline Bormann, Kyle Proscia, Nitya Patlola, Jack Amabile and Dominique Ryalls) and ends up having to stay a whole month with full time medical care (Jacob Barrett and Vanessa Scarpelli) after he slips on their steps and breaks his hip.
During his convalescence, romance blossoms between his secretary and the local newspaper man (Melissa Molter and Mason Forringer), the famous and infamous (Mary Rose Pomykacz, Brandon Fisher, Ben Alicandri and Alex Kane) drop by to visit and a national radio show is being broadcast from the living room.
The play also adds penguins, convicts and choirboys to the mix.
Shay Beckman, Tara Keelen, Charlie Segers, Jay Gallagher, Joe Rottner , Sam Piell, Tommy Gonzalez, Steven Marti, Joshua Van Patten, Eric Stein, Christina Lenzo and Josh Witzling are also part of the cast of junior and senior students. Gail Enterline directs, with Liam Carroll and Ben Sheneman as student directors.
