Several Hunterdon County residents have written letters of support for U.S. Rep. Leonard Lance (R-7th).

To the editor:

I have been a resident of Raritan Township for over 23 years, where my wife and I have had the pleasure of raising our family. Over the years, it has been my privilege to serve the residents of this township as a volunteer firefighter and chief, as well as your Raritan Township mayor and committeeman.

During my six years of municipal service, I have been honored to work with U.S. Rep. Leonard Lance (R-7th). Congressman Lance is a man of the people. He genuinely cares for his constituents, spending much of his time with us all. Congressman Lance is always a welcome guest whether in our homes, or our places of work.

Congressman Lance has been a champion for us; pioneering the fight for strong national defense, securing borders, lowering taxes, American made energy, and job creation to help move our economy forward. Locally, he works with our elected officials, businesses, law enforcement, volunteers, and religious leaders to support our community.

I would like to encourage all of my Hunterdon County friends, businesses leaders, and volunteers to get out and support Congressman Leonard Lance with your vote on Election Day. He has earned my respect and that of our community.

I am truly blessed this year to have the opportunity to run on the ballot with Congressman Leonard Lance.

I am so proud to call Leonard my Congressman, and my friend.

The writer is a member of the Raritan Township Committee and where he serves as deputy mayor. He is also a township firefighter and former chief.

To the editor:

To me, one of the most important aspects of representation is being attentive to the needs of your constituents. U.S. Rep. Leonard Lance (R-7th) is that kind of representative. He listens. He takes action. His office calls you back and offers assistance. And he has held over 70 town hall events to hear from us, the citizens, on the important issues facing the country.

Representation is more than voting in Washington - that's important - but so is fighting for our neighbors and communities as they deal with matters before the federal government.

Lance's office has successfully closed over 4,000 case work matters, delivering results for veterans, senior citizens, students and people like me, who walked into his office one day and asked for assistance. Congressman Lance is definitely results oriented for his constituents. I know this from firsthand experience.

These kinds of results matter. They certainly do to me. That's why I am supporting Leonard Lance for another term in Congress.

To the editor:

U.S. Rep. Leonard Lance (R-7th) is a fighter for a cause that is very dear to me: Alzheimer's Disease. It has touched me personally for much of my life.

I have been a caregiver for my grandfather, my mother and my husband, who all succumbed to this devastating disease.

Alzheimer's also took my father and my brother who, acting as caregivers along with me, found the stress just too much. They both died before our family member with the disease. This is not an uncommon story.

After all this loss, I brought my story to Rep. Lance and I could see his concern to find cures and innovations for many such terrible diseases.

I also became aware through Rep. Lance's office that there are many laws that have actually hampered the solutions for many of our 21st century illnesses. Yet Lance is dedicated to find a way to fix these impediments.

It seems that everyone knows someone struggling with cancer, a mental condition, an incurable or very rare disease. I know that they have a champion in Congressman Lance.
