Josiah O. Sulouff, 35, of Raritan Township, was seriously injured in an accident on Oct. 16, 2016 was issued a motor-vehicle summons for driving under the influence, Raritan Township Police said.
RARITAN TWP. - A 35-year-old township resident seriously injured in an accident on Sunday was issued a motor-vehicle summons for driving under the influence, police said.
Josiah O. Sulouff was driving alone north on Sergeantsville Road at 12:59 a.m. in a 2009 Pontiac G6 when he lost control of while going around a curve at the intersection with Bonetown Road, police said.
The Pontiac struck an embankment and trees, coming to rest after striking a utility pole. Sulouff had multiple facial injuries and was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital - New Brunswick via New Jersey State Police NorthStar Medevac helicopter, according to police.
The vehicle was heavily damaged and was towed from the scene.
Sulouff was issued motor-vehicle summonses for careless driving and driving under the influence of alcohol. The accident was investigated by Officer Aaron Roth.
The crash was one of three reported on Sunday in Hunterdon County. One accident, involving a Nissan Altima and Jeep Grand Cherokee, happened in Union Township. A second, involving a motorcycle, happened in Lebanon Township.
