For the past 16 years Freedom House, a Hunterdon County-based nonprofit which serves the entire state of New Jersey, has been recognizing individuals who have made a significant contribution through their support, involvement and leadership in the fight against drug and alcohol abuse. This year's recipients will be Adam M. Ambielli, Custom Alloy, Inc. president and Jody C. D'Agostini, Community in Crisis leadership volunteer.

"We are honored and privileged to recognize Adam and Jody for their involvement, passion, tireless efforts and leadership in the fight against this disease", stated Chris Treanor, Freedom House board president.

Ambielli, resident of Hunterdon County, has been involved with the family business since 1986 in California at that time. In 1993 the facility moved back to corporate headquarters in High Bridge and in 2012 he was named president of Custom Alloy. He also serves on the company's Board of Directors. Ambielli holds the company accountable by living their core values of caring for others, adaptability and flexibility, and a can do attitude. This is clearly evident in the partnership which has grown between Custom Alloy and Freedom House.

D'Agostini, an established professional certified financial planner, has devoted her volunteer passion to creating a community united in fighting the heroin/overdose crisis, reducing the stigma of addiction and preventing overdose deaths. Through an energized grassroots movement she created a group called Community in Crisis, a coalition designed to address prescription pill and heroin/opiate use in the community through resources, education and support. Full bios for each honoree can be found on the Freedom House website.

A banquet honoring Ambielli and D'Agostini will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 3, commencing at 6:30 p.m., at Fiddler's Elbow Country Club in Bedminster. Anyone interested in attending the event should contact Tracy Moran, Freedom House marketing and development coordinator, at 908-617-5492 or tmoran@freedomhousenj.org. Individual tickets as well as sponsorships are available, and space is limited.

Net proceeds from the event will benefit the programs and services offered by Freedom House of New Jersey.

Freedom House of New Jersey, founded in 1986, provides three major programs for those suffering from substance abuse and co-occurring disorders: long-term residential treatment in a halfway house setting to adult males; The Family Afterward a transitional program that provides intensive case management for women who are recovering from alcoholism and/or drug addiction and who are seeking reunification with their children; and the outpatient program, which began in 2014, for men and women who are in need of treatment, but also need to maintain their careers and family life during the recovery period.

Freedom House has provided men with room, board, substance abuse treatment services, life skills training and education, job seeking skills and assistance with job search and all transportation to and from work. Once working, residents are required to make a contribution toward their program fee, saving a third for expense after they leave the house.
