LEBANON - On a day when several accidents caused extensive delays on Route 22 and Interstate 78, a third accident brought down traffic lights on Thursday evening.
The crash, involving a Ford F150 Pick up, a Nissan Altima and a Lexus NX200i, happened at 6:10 p.m. at the intersection of Route 22 and Cokesbury Road, according to those at the scene.
Reports were that two people were injured. Both were transported by Clinton Rescue Squad. Further information was not available on Thursday evening.
Traffic on westbound Route 22 was reduced to one lane while eastbound traffic was detoured to the exit ramp for Cokesbury Road. Responding were the State Police from Perryville Station, Clinton Rescue Squad, Lebanon Borough Fire Department and Clinton Fire Department.

As well, the state Department of Transportation traffic incident management team responded because of an expected extended closure on eastbound Route 22.
Earlier in the afternoon, two accidents caused delays in Somerset and Hunterdon counties. An accident on westbound Interstate 78 west of exit 12 (Perryville Road) in Union Township in Hunterdon County closed the left lane.
Additional 10 mile delays were reported on westbound Interstate 78 from east of exit 20 (Cokesbury Road) in Readington Township in Hunterdon County to exit 36 (King George Road) in Warren Township in Somerset County. There were more delays on Interstate 287 because of an accident in South Plainfield in Middlesex County.
Earlier on Thursday, an accident brought down power lines and damaged a pole on Route 22. The crash occurred shortly after 12:30 p.m. on westbound Route 22 near County Line Road, located close to the borders of Readington and Branchburg townships.
