A motorcycle run and barbecue is being held Sunday for a Hunterdon County man who was seriously hurt in an accident in Delaware earlier this year.

Michael Heater, 25, was rear-ended by a sports-utility vehicle in March while stopped at a red light in Christiana, Delaware. Heater, on a motorcycle, was knocked into the hood, smashing the windshield and continued over the vehicle before falling onto the roadway, it was previously reported. He was living in Delaware at the time.

The fundraiser also serves as a homecoming for Heater, who is back home with his parents in Readington Township, according to mycentraljersey.com.

The event is being held at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 350 Woodside Lane in Bridgewater. It begins with a 9 a.m., with an hour-long ride around Somerset County beginning at 10:30 a.m. A barbecue with food, live band, vendors, prizes and a tricky tray, runs noon to 4 p.m., according to mycentraljersey.com and a Facebook page.

The rain or shine event costs $20, with funds going to help cover Heater's medical and living expenses. Both riders and non-riders are welcome, according to mycentraljersey.com.

gofundme page has also been set up for Heater, who is a graduate of Hunterdon Central Regional High School.
