Two teens who had reportedly been hanging out smoking marijuana got into a fight at a Clinton Township house on Aug. 23, 2016, over a missing pack of cigarettes containing Xanax.
CLINTON TWP. - Two teens who had reportedly been hanging out smoking marijuana got into a fight over a missing pack of cigarettes containing Xanax, police said.
Officers responded to a residence on Aug. 23 on a report of a 17-year-old assaulting another teen, also 17. The person who called, a friend of the victim, told police the teen had been "destroying the house looking for drugs" before hitting the victim, according to police.
As police arrived, they reported hearing screaming from inside the home and saw the teen run from the rear of the house. He was apprehended. The victim told police the pair had been smoking marijuana in the evening of Aug. 22 when his friend accused him of stealing the cigarettes, police reported.
They returned to the victim's home and slept, but in the morning the teen accused him again, shoving him against a garage door, punching him in the face, striking his car multiple times and breaking a number of items inside the home, police said.
The teen was arrested and issued juvenile complaints for simple assault and criminal mischief. His mother, who had arrived, requested that he be transported to the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township for evaluation. When the teen resisted, he was handcuffed and placed on a stretcher, police reported.
