Myranda Bond is the 2016 Hunterdon County 4-H Fair ambassador.
EAST AMWELL TWP. - This year's Hunterdon County 4-H and Agricultural Fair Ambassador is Myranda Bond, 20, of West Amwell Township. Besides helping out in various ways during the fair, she will represent the fair and agricultural at other events later this year.
Myranda Bond is the 2016 Hunterdon County 4-H Fair ambassador. (courtesy photo)Myranda is the 2016-2017 New Jersey State FFA president and have been traveling the country to Iowa, Washington, Washington D.C., Virginia and West Virginia so far, for various conferences and conventions.
This fall she will start attending Raritan Valley Community College and her hope is to pursue a career in agriculture education.
She was active in the FFA (formerly Future Farmers of America) at South Hunterdon High School, including as president, and was also a noted softball player. She is a former member of the Dilts Corner 4-H Dairy Club. She was state FFA treasurer before becoming president in May.
She was both the alternate New Jersey state and alternate Hunterdon County Dairy Princess for 2014-15.

As fair ambassador, "my goal is to reach out to the public and speak on behalf of the fair and all it has to offer," she said.
Its "great vendors, passionate 4-Hers and hard-working fair staff" make it such a wonderful event.
"I have been coming to this fair ever since I was born and have showed my dairy cows," she said. "I have loved coming ever since then. This year will be a learning experience, and I can't wait to see what it has in store for me."
She is the daughter of Scott and Trista Bond, who have been involved in 4-H, agricultural and the fair for many years. Scott is co-chairman of the Tractor Pull Committee. Her grandfather, farmer Dave Bond, has also served in various agricultural organizations and is a singer. His band, Real Country, performs at the fair Thursday night.
The fair runs Wednesday through Sunday at the South County Park, 1207 Route 179 between Ringoes and Lambertville. For a complete schedule of activities, go to HunterdonCountyFair.com
