Building forts deep in the woods, climbing fences and roughhousing on the school playground were activities I'm glad I experienced.
Each time I collect photos for this gallery I find myself wary that people will draw the conclusion that I'm making light of risks and danger.
I am not.
Naturally, I believe that seat belts in cars and life jackets on boats are good ideas. And, by the same token, riding a bicycle behind the "mosquito man" was never a smart thing to do.
Still, when I see photos of people engaged in antics that in today's world would qualify as reckless (or illegal) I am reminded of how many activities we participated in when I was a kid that were considered fun and nothing more.
