U.S. Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) visited Lambertville in Hunterdon County and the Somerset County Democratic Headquarters in Somerville on Saturday as part of his plan to visit 21 New Jersey counties in seven days.
The tour began a week after Booker's speech at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, where his refrain "American, we will rise" helped excite delegates. Booker had been in the running to be Hillary Clinton's running mate.
His tour began in Sussex County last Wednesday and will end on Wednesday in Monmouth County.
"This is going to be engaging with New Jersey," Booker told NJ Advance Media last week. "It will probably one of the best road trips I have had in more than a decade."
