Kevin McMorrow, a lieutenant with the Country Hills Fire Department in Somerset County, was killed Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, in a motorcycle crash at the border of Lebanon and Clinton Township.

Kevin McMorrow, a lieutenant with the Country Hills Volunteer Fire Department in Somerset County, was killed Wednesday in a motorcycle crash at the border of Lebanon and Clinton Township, the Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office announced Thursday evening.

McMorrow, 33, of South Bound Brook, was killed when the motorcycle he was operating collided with a sports-utility vehicle driven by a 28-year-old Lebanon woman at the intersection of Main Street in Lebanon and Route 22 east in Clinton Township, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns III announced.

The accident happened at approximately 9 p.m.

"My condolences go out to family, loved ones and friends of Mr. McMorrow, as well as the members of the Country Hills Volunteer Fire Department," Kearns stated in a news release.

Country Hills Volunteer Fire Department is located in Bridgewater and serves both that township and Branchburg. Dozens of condolences were offered on the department's Facebook page Thursday, as well as funeral details.

"Kevin has been a member of Country Hills since December of 2003 and has climbed through the ranks reaching as high as 2nd Assistant Chief," it was stated on the Facebook page. "Kevin also served for many years as a trustee on the department's executive board. Kevin was a devoted father, friend, son, brother, and had a love for cars.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends."

A viewing is scheduled at Bruce Van Arsdale Funeral Home in Somerville from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, with services being held at St John's Episcopal Church in Somerville at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Burial will be at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Bridgewater with a repast at the Somerville Elk's Lodge in Bridgewater.

Firefighter and Emergency Medical Services organizations planning on attending McMorrow's funeral are asked to contact Steven Cornella with contact information, as well as the number of participants, by email.

"The Officers & Members of the Clinton First Aid and Rescue Squad, Inc. wish to extend our condolences to the Department and Lt. McMorrow's children and family," the squad stated in a message left on Facebook. "Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you and the department. May he rest in peace, and watch over us all."

According to McMorrow's Facebook page, he worked as a technician at Audi of Mendham. The page includes photos of McMorrow with his sons.

The prosecutor's office stated in the release that emergency crews from the Annandale and Lebanon fire departments responded, as well as the White House Rescue Squad and paramedics from the Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township.

The crash is under investigation by the Hunterdon County Accident Investigation Unit, the Clinton Township Police Department and the New Jersey State Police Accident Investigation Unit, according to the news release.

"It is important for every motorist on the roadway to be aware that motorcycles share the road with us, especially during the summer months," Kearns stated in the release. "Because of a motorcycle's narrow profile it can easily be hidden in a car's blind side or masked by objects."

Anyone with information about the accident is asked to contact the Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office Accident Investigation Unit or the Clinton Township Police Department.
