The wallet was found at a gas station in Clinton Township.
CLINTON TWP. -- A man who found a wallet faces a theft charge after reportedly removing cash before turning it in, calling the money a "finder's fee," police said.
The incident happened on July 22 at the Speedway gas station on Route 31 north, police said. Around 9:30 p.m., two men allegedly approached the cashier at the station and said they'd found a wallet within the store.

"Before handing the wallet over, however, one of the men reached inside of it, removed cash, and proclaimed that he was taking a 'finder's fee,'" police said.
Police were able to track down the owner of the wallet, who advised that it was missing about $40.
Officers reviewed surveillance footage from inside the store, and on July 27, following an investigation, a Clinton Township detective issued David Booth Jr., 35, of Glen Gardner a summons complaint charging him with theft of mislaid property.
