The Fire/EMS Safety Day was a first for Franklin Township's summer camp program.
FRANKLIN TWP. -- Kids in Franklin's summer camp got an in-depth look Tuesday at what firefighting and emergency medical services work is like.
The township Fire Marshal's Office and board of fire commissioners worked with Quakertown firefighters and emergency medical technicians to host a Fire/EMS Safety Day for the campers. ShopRite of Clinton donated snacks and drinks.
Through various activities, campers saw some of the more specialized and highly sophisticated tools that firefighters and emergency medical technicians use when working at a fire or a medical emergency.

The event, a first for the township summer camp, was organized by township Fire Marshal Rich Dziminski and Franklin Township Summer Camp Director Joanne Hyland.
