Michelle is a conductor and pianist. She holds a B.M. in Piano Performance with a concentration in orchestral conducting from Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University and is currently pursuing her Master of Music degree in Orchestral Conducting at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University.
Michelle Rofrano, a resident of Flemington, who also resides in Baltimore, Maryland, was recently selected to receive a $12,000 educational loan from the P.E.O. Sisterhood. Chapter AX of Flemington, chose to sponsor Michelle as their 2015 loan candidate.
Michelle is a conductor and pianist. She has held numerous conducting positions leading symphonic orchestras, performed at piano recitals at Avery Fischer Hall and Carnegie Hall and has participated in festivals throughout Europe and the United States. She is currently preparing to conduct a production of Mozart's opera "Cosi fan tutte" this September with DC Public Opera.
The P.E.O. Educational Loan Fund (ELF), established in 1907, makes loans available to qualified women who desire higher education and are in need of financial assistance.
The P.E.O. Sisterhood, founded Jan. 21, 1869, at Iowa Wesleyan College, Mount Pleasant, Iowa, is a philanthropic educational organization interested in bringing increased opportunities for higher education to women. There are approximately 6,000 local chapters in the United States and Canada with nearly a quarter of a million active members.
