A Pennsylvania man was arrested and charged after allegedly stealing six pickup truck tailgates from Flemington-Ditschman Ford in Raritan Township.
RARITAN TWP. -- A man from Pennsylvania has been charged with stealing six pickup truck tailgates from a dealership here.
On Jan. 16, management from the Flemington-Ditschman Ford dealership reported to police that the tailgates from six new Ford pickup trucks had been stolen.
Over several months, detectives developed information leading to charges against Jason Lear, 29, with a last known address in Norristown, Pa.
A warrant was issued by the Raritan Township Municipal Court with bail set at $20,000 full. The warrant was served on Lear at the Montgomery County (Pennsylvania) Jail where he is being detained on other charges, police said.
The approximate value of each tailgate is $2,400, according to police. Patroman Anthony Moreno handled the initial investigation, with followup investigation and charges by Det. Scott Iglay.
