A woman from Allentown, N.J., was injured in the crash.
CLINTON TWP. -- A woman was trapped in her upside-down Jetta after an accident on Route 31 at Payne Road on Wednesday.
Yan Lim, 58, of Allentown, N.J., was heading south on the highway in the left lane at 5:55 p.m. while a 2001 Jeep Wrangler driven by Alex Kane, 17, of Flemington was southbound in the right lane, police said.
The accident happened when Kane, in the Wrangler, tried to make a left turn across the divided highway onto Payne Road. The Wrangler was hit by Lim's 2000 Volkswagen Jetta, police said.
Kane's Jeep overturned but landed upright, police said. Lim's car overturned and ended on its roof, trapping Lim inside until she was extricated.
Lim was transported to Hunterdon Medical Center for treatment of chest and arm injuries, police said. Kane and a 16-year-old girl passenger were also taken to the hospital with apparently minor injuries.
Both vehicles had to be towed. Kane received summonses for improper turning and careless driving.
