This year's Hunterdon County YMCA's Annual Golf Classic raised $30,000 for the financial assistance program.
To the editor:
On Monday, June 20, our community came together at the Hunterdon County YMCA's Annual Golf Classic held at Stanton Ridge Golf and Country Club.
For more than 110 years, the YMCA of Hunterdon County has been a community center for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Thanks to those who support our Golf Classic and other fundraising initiatives, the Y is able to offer its programs and services to all regardless of ability to pay.
We are thrilled to report that $30,000 was raised for our financial assistance program from this year's Golf Classic.
In 2016 alone, the Hunterdon County Y will provide nearly $500,000 in subsidies for those less fortunate, impacting the lives of more than 1,500 children, teens, adults and seniors in our community.
On behalf of the YMCA and the families we serve, we would like to thank our highest level sponsors: Tom & Sue Hays, Chubb Insurance, Cintas Corporation, Freeholder John King and Weber Gallagher.
We would also like to thank the volunteers who helped make the day a success, with particular thanks to the members of our committee - John King (Event Chair), Andrew DiGuardia, Justin Grand, Jeff Jones, Bob Kreilick, Jane Loh, Julie Moriarty, Steve Parent, Steve Peppe, and Alex VanVeldhuisen - for their leadership.
