The accident happened on May 29, 2016, at the intersection of southbound Route 31 and Halstead Street in Clinton Township.
CLINTON TWP. -- Two children suffered apparently minor injuries on May 29 when the car they were riding in was hit from behind, police said.
The accident happened at 8:30 p.m. when a 2015 Honda Accord driven by Praveen Dorai-Swamy, 41, of Plainsboro was stopped for a red light on Route 31 south at the intersection with Halstead Street.
Police said a 2014 Chevrolet Impala driven by Jerry Granato, 86, of Iselin was heading south on Route 31 and reportedly did not stop, hitting Dorai-Swamy's vehicle from behind.
Passengers in Dorai-Swamy's vehicle -- 9-year-old Aishuaryk Nalla and 13-year-old Meghana Nalla, both of Plainsboro, suffered apparent minor injuries, police said.
The airbags in the Granato car deployed and both cars had to be towed. Granato received a motor-vehicle summons for careless driving.
