CLINTON-- The first annual Taste of Clinton Restaurant Weekend begins Friday April 29 and runs through Sunday May 1.
Hosted by the Clinton Guild, Taste of Clinton Restaurant Weekend will feature dining specials as well as prix fixe menus offered at 11 restaurants, food and wine shops in downtown Clinton.
Some non-food related shops in town are also participating with a variety of sales and specials.

- Fourchette will be offering samplings of artisan cheeses, as well as 10 percent off new spices.
- J.J. Scoops will be offering new ice cream, frozen yogurt and sorbet flavors in a shake or sundae at a discount, with free samples of new frozen desserts.
- The Towne Restaurant will be offering a prix fixe lunch menu for $9.95.
- Christie's Artisan Bread & Pastry Shop will have free samplings and tastings of various baked goods.
- Balic of Clinton will be offering a special wine tasting and gourmet sampling, and guests can enter a drawing to win a gift certificate for a private wine tasting.
- Clinton Fudge Company will be offering 10 percent off fudge purchases, as well as free samples of fudge bites and chocolate-dipped fruit.
- Sweet Eliza's will be offering a 15 percent discount and free samples of candies.
- Scotty G's will be offering 10 percent off all orders.
- The Clean Plate Kitchen will be offering complimentary hummus with the purchase of an entree. The restaurant will also be celebrating the opening of the patio on Sunday as well as introducing its summer menu.
- Jayne's Hallmark will have its semi-annual Kameleon trunk show.
- Addicted Jeans Store & Mary's will be hosting a "Breakfast at Tiffany's" Party on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. with a complimentary tutorial of the Audrey Hepburn's retro cat eye, and on Sunday, the store will offer 20 percent off for its Mother's Day sales event.
- Expressive Stitches will be offering 20 percent off all aprons with monograms, name or standard design.
- Dora Restaurant will be offering a complimentary dessert with the purchase of dinner.
- Pru Thai will be offering a buy one get one free appetizer special.
