A recent tour of Hunterdon County's 9-1-1 communications center was time well spent.

To the editor:
As part of our continuing education program, members of the Raritan Township Community Emergency Response Team recently attended a program at our 911 facility.
Presented by Supervisor Sharon Burham, the program covered the entire emergency program of Hunterdon County and a visit to the working sites of those who man the stations. Highly trained, these operators are fully equipped to handle calls for most any reason.
Of particular interest was the access each operator has with each and every police, fire and rescue operation in the entire County. Depending on the nature of the call they are serving, they can alert the property local authority quickly from their work station.
Sharon also provided us with what information they would need when we are faced with the need for their assistance.
Impressive and nice to know we are so equipped.
