CLINTON TWP. -- A 60-year-old Glen Gardner man was injured early Monday morning when he was struck by a Jeep at the intersection of Center Street and Route 173, police said.
The accident happened around 6:40 a.m., said Clinton Township Police Lt. Ryan Melsky. The man, a pedestrian, was reportedly hit by a 2008 Jeep Wrangler being driven by a 28-year-old Clinton woman, he said. The driver stayed at the accident.
"When police got there the man was on the ground and nonverbal as he was being treated by the rescue squad," Melsky said.
The man was taken to Morristown Medical Center, and by early Friday afternoon he was listed in stable but guarded condition with facial and cranial cuts, Melsky said.
Melsky had limited information about the accident early Monday afternoon, saying reports were still incomplete. The county Prosecutor's Office is investigating the accident along with township police.
