The driver of a single vehicle crash on westbound Route 78 was flown to a hospital early Sunday morning in Union Township.
UNION TWP.-- The driver of a single vehicle crash on Route 78 was flown to the hospital by the State Police NorthStar helicopter early Sunday morning in Union Township.
First responders were called to Route 78 westbound near exit 12 at 3:47 a.m. and found that the driver in the incident had struck a guardrail, according to State Police spokesman Sgt. Jeff Flynn.
State Police did not immediately have information on the driver's identity or the extent of injuries, Flynn said.
The state police helicopter landed at Foster Wheeler located on Frontage Road between exit 12 and exit 11, and the driver was flown to St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehemm Pa. for treatment.
Responding to the crash and the landing zone were State Police, Pattenburg Rescue Squad, Pattenburg Fire Department and paramedics from Hunterdon Medical Center.
The investigation into the crash is still ongoing, Flynn said.
