One of the oldest wrestling rivalries in the Hunterdon/Warren area received a rousing renewal Thursday night in front of an enthusiastic crowd at Delaware Valley.
The Terriers took on Hackettstown for the 49th time in their history – DelVal has wrestled the Tigers more than any other single team – and came away with a 51-14 independent win in the first meeting between the schools since 2010. It is to be hoped the progams won’t go six years without another meeting.
Delaware Valley (4-2 overall), which increased its edge in the overall series to 41-7-1, used five pins by CJ Heaps (106), AJ DeRosa (113), Vito Intili (120), Kyle Refalvy (126) and Matt Meehan (182) to bury the Tigers (3-3) under a avalanche of bonus points.
