CLINTON TWP. -- Someone preparing to re-sell a piece of machinery found a gun inside a paper bag in one of the drawers, police said.
On Dec. 30 at 12:05 p.m., Patrolman Jeffery Glennon was called to a township firm that's in the business of buying and selling large pieces of machining equipment, said Lt. Ryan Melsky.
Glennon spoke with someone who said he had purchased a piece of machinery and was preparing to re-sell it when he discovered a paper bag containing a Rossi .38-caliber five-shot revolver and a box of ammunition in one of its drawers.

Det. Thomas Hash entered the handgun's serial number into the National Crime Information Center system and discovered that the gun was reported stolen from Lynchburg, Va. in 1991. Hash has been in touch with Lynchburg authorities and continues to investigate.
