The Hunterdon County Board of Chosen Freeholders has directed the Division of Planning Services staff member Bill Millette to complete a reexamination of the Open Space Trust Fund Plan that was adopted in 2000 as a response to the county open space tax referendum. The Open Space Trust Fund Plan is required by state statute and was created to formalize county goals and recommendations for the management of the Open Space Trust Fund.

The final draft of the updated Hunterdon County Open Space Trust Fund Plan is posted on the main county web page: www.co.hunterdon.nj.us along with a spreadsheet showing changes based on comments received to date; paper copies are available at the Planning office. The Draft Plan also includes an Open Space and Recreation Development and Maintenance Plan, required by statue to allocate open space funds to develop, improve and maintain County and Municipal open space lands.

The county encourages municipal officials, planning boards, environmental commissions, and the public to review the draft document and provide comments. Comments may be submitted via email at planning@co.hunterdon.nj.us.

The County will accept comments at the upcoming Hunterdon County Parks & Open Space Advisory Committee meeting being held on Tuesday, January 19th, 2016 at 7:00pm in the Assembly Room at the Route 12 County Complex, Building #1.

Please call (908) 788-1490 for further information.
