Glimpse of History: A classroom display for the holidays a century ago

According to the East Amwell Township Historical Society, this classroom in the two-room schoolhouse was known as "the big side."

EAST AMWELL -- Children in grades five through eight at the two-room schoolhouse in Ringoes, East Amwell Township, posed in front of their Christmas and New Year's decorations for this photo in 1915.

According to the East Amwell Township Historical Society, this classroom was known as "the big side;" students in lower grades were taught in the school's other room.

The teachers in the class have been identified as Miss Helen Sargent and Mr. Wolverton.
