On Saturday, Oct. 31, the Delaware Valley Golden Regiment Marching Band won the Group 1A New Jersey State Championship. The band scored a 94.225, one of the highest scores out of all 50+ bands competing statewide, and took home awards for Best Music, Best Overall Effect and Best Visual.

This was the crowning moment of a fantastic season which featured an NJ State Championship, a fourth place finish at National Championships, a Yamaha Cup victory for the second year in a row along with 6 first-place finishes, 6 Best Music Awards, six Best Visual Awards, 5 Best Overall Effect Awards, 4 Best Percussion Awards and 4 Best Colorguard Awards.

The band is comprised of 40 students in grades nine through 12. In addition to their competitive schedule, the band also performs for local football games, parades and will be representing New Jersey at the 2016 National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, D.C.

"This season has been incredibly successful and it is a testament to dedication of our members," said Chris Zwarych, DVR Marching Band director. "They're the hardest working group of students I have ever had the privilege of teaching. The accomplishments of this season are proof of how hard work can pay off."
